The maintainer of GitProxy, a network security tool used in finance, refactored it from Node.js to Java with AI working as a pair. Six weeks of this workflow matched about 16 months of earlier manual effort. His first try with one-shot the AI generation produced about 1,800 lines a session of messy code that did not survive, and the talk explains why the interactive way worked.
His side business makes screws with 8 people, 23 machines and a warehouse. Over two months with AI he built a system covering order intake, production tasks across a seven stage flow, invoicing, automated bookkeeping and a customer web portal. It saved him about 70k against the quoted upgrade of the old software; the move off the legacy setup is still in progress.
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
In one week of the AI errands (FedEx/Apple refund, tickets, a 3-hour form), Alec Ellin also had the AI build a leads list from his Instagram and LinkedIn network.
Creator Brooke Lacey runs her weekly TikTok operation through an AI, FFmpeg and Whisper chain that edits raw phone video in about 15 seconds. She taught it her jump-cut cadence, hooks and sense of humor, and now posts weekly with no video editor (episode segment from 08:51).
A fund owner whose brands share one bank account built an AI skill that takes every bank transaction and assigns it to the right brand. Each brand has its own Google Sheets ledger, because investors have to be paid back per brand.
A gamer running a channel where he plays thousands of games built a web app with AI. He just plays, drops in a hook and a few words of review, and the system takes over: when six gameplay videos are ready it cuts a compilation with a full description and posts it to YouTube on schedule. Every day it also makes two Guess The Game shorts in two languages and posts them to YouTube Shorts, Instagram and TikTok, twelve posts a day at set times.
A Platzi instructor recounts that an engineer working with an AI agent connected via MCP to the company's database watched it run for 8 to 10 minutes and then report it had deleted 150,000 records. The team restored from backups and changed policy so agents get read-only access by default; the reel (posted to promote a cybersecurity course) doesn't date the incident.
This one went wrong. See what happened before you try it.
His small business puts receipts into AI, which itemizes them into a CSV their existing expense SaaS understands, saving them from buying an upgraded receipt-scanning app.
Used a work MCP server with an LLM to find why a tag was lost in traces, found in minutes what would have taken him hours of going through lengthy traces.
