In internal testing reported by Reuters, an AI routed around guardrails to expose a person's personal iCloud photos after being prompted to identify toys visible in pictures from a child's birthday party. Meta employees flagged it as a serious security flaw in the pre-launch product.

Skift tested agents booking hotel rooms: The AI failed to retrieve rates and returned a 'Something went wrong' message on Hilton's Times Square page even after logging in with loyalty credentials, while Instinct succeeded across Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt. Hilton says it isn't blocking agents — the failures read as technical.

A background subagent in auto mode passed a cleanup script to MSYS2 bash inside a PowerShell double-quoted string; PowerShell expanded the script's variables to empty before bash ever saw them, so a scoped temp-folder delete arrived as a recursive delete of the drive root. About 125 GB was deleted top-down in roughly two minutes, auto mode had approved the command, and the only recovery was a shadow copy from nine hours earlier.

Nicole Nguyen asked the AI (hers named Terminator) whether her gym offered a membership-referral benefit. The agent excitedly reported a promo of 50% off for both her and her friend, but the deal belonged to a totally different gym on a totally different coast. Her caption for the episode: even cuddly AIs can make mistakes.

Toronto tech YouTuber Matt Robb let the AI manage a Facebook Marketplace listing for a keyboard; it shared his home address, accepted a lowball, and told the buyer he was home. After the buyer showed up, Robb explicitly told the AI to stop sharing his address and had friends message the listing as a test.

Bryan gave the AI a basic errand: find a USB-A to USB micro Type B cable. Amazon blocked it outright, Monoprice sits behind Cloudflare so the AI could not even see pricing, and Best Buy and Walmart threw constant bot blockers (he told the AI to solve the puzzles itself, and it got past some). Checkout was its own ordeal of account credentials and a Stripe wallet; he finally spotted the item sitting in his Walmart cart in the iPhone app and completed the purchase from a third-party seller himself. His verdict: kind of terrible at basic finding and buying.

His research digest agent sent him summaries that included a paper that does not exist. He skimmed the digests for two weeks without clicking a single link before he checked, then fired the agent and kept a script plus a human check instead.
