His AI checks WordPress plugins daily and found malware

He set up an AI for his WP Beacon project to check WordPress plugins every day. After two weeks of daily checks it pinged him about malware in the InstaWP Connect plugin, and wordpress.org closed the listing that afternoon and restored it the next morning.

The AI merged straight to main and my production app broke for every user

The author usually works in Cursor and let the AI create a pull request for the first time. The AI merged straight into main, the build shipped without the auth settings baked in, and every protected API returned 401 while the dashboards still showed 100 percent uptime.

Every Tuesday my agent works out payroll for my delivery worker

A delivery driver has the AI run his weekly payroll. Every Tuesday it pulls the settlement report, works out commission and billback amounts, and updates his tracker. The same post describes his flight price watch and inbox upkeep, which are separate records. He says the payroll job used to eat a chunk of his evening.

It runs my worker's payroll every Tuesday from the settlement report

He is a delivery driver who employs a worker. Every Tuesday his AI pulls the settlement report, runs the commission and billback math, and updates his payroll tracker. The job used to eat a chunk of his evening each week. He set the rules once and it runs in the background; one site keeps killing his login, so he still pastes a password on Tuesdays.

My AI keeps our app-versions help page updated by itself

In a diary aside, Manton Reece says his mostly-idle home the AI server automatically updates Micro.blog's 'latest app versions' help page. It checks the currently shipped version and whether an app is in review, while he still writes the release notes by hand.

Our daily the AI check of published quotes only matched the prices

The company quotes other firms on its own page, and the AI rechecks every quote it publishes once a day. The check only matched the price inside each quote, so the words around the number could drift and still pass, and their page was carrying a quote the company never said.

Track my whole job hunt and score every posting against my résumé

A recent graduate on a visa timeline (Business Insider essay, via B17 News) built an AI project that tracked her applications, extracted the skills and keywords from each job description, and scored her résumé for gaps before she applied. The dashboard she had the AI build shows the funnel that ended in a job: 186 applications, 44 cold outreaches, 19 interviews, six take-home assignments, three final rounds and one offer.

File everything I text myself into the right category

Shreya Agarwal connected the AI to WhatsApp so every thought, task and reminder she messages herself is classified and stored automatically, with deadlines extracted — a 'cancel the free trial in two months' note becomes a task dated today plus 60 days. Setup took under 15 minutes and new categories are created by the agent as new kinds of items appear.

Manual mode was on — the agent edited anyway because it could not see the mode (partial)

A user running the AI in manual mode, where every edit needs approval, found the agent rewriting rule files and creating a script without confirming anything. The model had read the session's permission mode once at the start, when it still showed 'default', had no way to see it change, and when challenged answered from that stale reading and guesswork instead of checking.

My business agent answers my Airbnb guests using my own past replies

A host runs five the AI profiles as a small staff. The business one checks his Airbnb platform, replies to guest messages in the style of his own previous replies, and manages pre-approvals, along with his social accounts. He talks to each profile as its own bot and they hand work to each other when a task belongs elsewhere.

Salon owner's own front-desk agent lifts completed intake forms from 25% to 81%

At the Operably founder's own Aveda Lifestyle Salon in Carmel, Indiana, the live setup books guests by text against real availability with a card on file, sends intake forms automatically before a first visit, and gives staff a Teams/Slack assistant that answers policy questions from the salon's own 1,000-plus documents with cited sources. Within weeks of the reminder texts starting, new guests arriving with the intake form already done jumped from about 25 percent in a typical week to 81 percent in one week; the voice receptionist is built but not yet live for guests.
