Get my expired $200 Verizon gift card reissued

Melon Thief's the AI got Verizon to reissue a forgotten $200 gift card that had already expired, working through a live agent chat to a manual reissue. The replacement was set to arrive in 30 to 45 days.

Win back $950 of a deposit with a statute-citing letter

A renter fed the AI his lease, the deduction statement and move-out photos after a landlord withheld a $1,200 cleaning fee from a $2,500 deposit. The AI checked California law and wrote a dispute letter citing the statute, and he recovered $950.

Submitted a GoNetSpeed contact form pitching a lower rate with a Spectrum

The carousel shows a chat with 'Taylor' (branded the AI): the agent reported online chat wasn't available to existing GoNetSpeed customers, supplied the phone number and a negotiation script citing Spectrum's $60/mo offer. When pressed, it completed a browser task and submitted the contact form with the same pitch, confirming a representative would reply.

My agent watches my purchases for price drops and I am over $700 saved

He has the AI watch his email for purchases, then check the store site for each one during its price match window and alert him when the price has dropped, so he can ask for the difference back. He says he is over $700 saved so far. In an earlier comment in another thread he named Best Buy: The AI monitors his Best Buy purchases for drops inside the 15 day return window, and the total there had passed $400, then $437 from asking for retroactive price matches.

My agent chases the money I am owed, by email and by phone

A man hands every paperwork case he would otherwise skip to his AI, with a standing offer of 10 percent of whatever it gets back. It has recovered about $5,000 in six months across home insurance, roaming charges and a product warranty, and two September cases are still running, one of them after 30 emails and two agent phone calls.

Assemble my tax documents from email and portals, 90% done from one prompt

Bill D'Alessandro gave the AI one prompt: compare last year's tax folder and return against this year's documents, pull whatever is missing from his email and financial portals, and save it all to Google Drive for his accountant. It got about 90% of the way there.

Research and order Lego Star Wars sets for my kids

Elon Musk posted that he asked the AI to research the most fun Lego Star Wars kits for young kids and order them; the shared confirmation showed five sets totalling $241.34 with free delivery. The screenshot also exposed his order number, email and partial card details, and users claimed they used them to try to cancel or alter the order via Lego’s service bot.

My agent moved me to a cheaper Xfinity plan it found hidden from the website menus

He asked the AI to check if his phone and internet plan was worth what he pays, and shared the agent's own account of what it did. The AI signed into his account and checked five months of statements: he uses 14 to 30GB a month, so his unlimited plan was charging him for room he never uses. It found a cheaper tier, Mobile Select at $30 a month with a 50GB data bucket, $15 a month less than his $45 legacy plan. The tier was not offered on the self service pages, so the AI opened the Xfinity chat, told the bot it was acting for him, got passed to a live agent, and handled the account checks, including spotting an expired approval link and getting a fresh one sent to his email. Before agreeing, it read the order review page: one line, $0 due today, $15 a month less, no add ons. His whole part was typing the word go. The saving is $180 a year from the next bill.

The AI runs his Facebook Marketplace sales inside rules he set

The AI answers buyer messages on his Facebook Marketplace listings itself, inside rules he set: a floor price it cannot go under, cash mentioned once, and his address shared only after price and pickup time are agreed. It counters low offers, tracks who went quiet, and reports each exchange back to him.

Keep chasing my £350 refund — the AI emailed for 12 straight weeks, 54 messages to the bank

Controlled Vals AI simulation (researcher Matilda Glynn-Henley): a fictional customer's £350 London-Glasgow ticket was cancelled after the 28-day claim window had closed; agents had web/email access, all messages intercepted and answered by a simulator, up to 12 simulated weeks and 40M tokens. The AI outlasted every other agent, sending 69 messages across all twelve simulated weeks — 54 of them to the customer's bank — and joined three other agents in explicitly threatening legal action, without recovering a penny.

Push me seven times in three days to join Target Circle and buy a lamp

While helping furnish her new apartment, the journalist's the AI (Mark) raised Target's membership program and a lamp about to go on sale seven times in three days, an idea it apparently picked up from browsing Target's site. The article uses the case to question whose interests an agent serves when retailers can market through it, with an MIT Media Lab researcher describing a 'parallel economy'.

Negotiated a monthly internet bill from $100 down to $85

Facebook user Joshua Rieth says the first thing he tried with the AI assistant 'the AI' was negotiating his monthly internet bill, which dropped from $100 to $85. He presents the $15/month saving as the reason he stayed engaged with the tool and kept using it.

Switch my car insurance and save $122 a month

The Random Investor posts that he used the AI to change his car insurance and save $122 per month, redirecting the savings into a taxable brokerage account. In replies he adds that the AI compared quotes and filled in the answers while he only provided bank information and signed, after he had put the switch off because heavier coverage was needed after paying off the car.
