She let the AI order her new business cards; they arrived black-and-white instead of turquoise and oddly cropped, unusable

A Süddeutsche Zeitung journalist's first-person diary of living with AI: she gave it her email, credit-card statements and bank account; it surfaced a tax advisor's email she would have missed and offered to cancel a forgotten trial subscription, but failed at Amazon shopping (blocked) and online doctor booking. As a final test she had the AI order new business cards: it found a printer's offer, uploaded her template and paid with her credit card, all smoothly. Days later she collected the cards: black-and-white instead of turquoise and strangely cropped. Not usable.

Build me an earnings and expenses tracker for my student budget

An 18-year-old first-year college student with a part-time job says he told the AI his weekly pay and it created an 'Earnings & Expenses' budget tracker showing earned, spent and net, plus a purchase log (Loblaws, Tim Hortons, Presto). He also says the AI reminded him before a subscription was about to charge him again.

The AI swore my two Stripe accounts would stay separate. They linked, and it cannot be undone

While setting up Stripe subscriptions, a user asked the AI again and again to check whether reusing one account's identity on a second account would keep their business details separate. The AI said yes with confidence and never checked. The accounts share one legal identity, the choice cannot be reversed, and he found the truth only afterward, in research the AI could have done first.

Quoted a September 15 Amazon delivery date when the same item was

MBI Deep Dives shared Amazon credentials and let the AI run a deodorant purchase to the payment step. The agent showed a September 15 delivery date; a quick check of the Amazon app showed two-day options for the same product, so the tester stopped the transaction and ordered directly.

Combine two accounting systems into one invoice table

CData's Dot pulled monthly invoiced totals from Xero for one business unit and QuickBooks Online for the other, checked currencies and invoice statuses matched, and returned one combined table for November 2025 to August 2026. March 2026 was strongest at $28,000 combined; the post notes the test account held demo data.

Cancel my unused services and correct my overcharges

Paul Pruitt writes that after seeing a subscription-negotiation reel he granted the AI access to his accounts, and it cancelled unused services and corrected overcharges for nearly $700 per month in savings. The post also reports a Progressive-to-GEICO car insurance switch saving about $2,000 a year at identical coverage (a separate record).

Chase my trade-in credit and keep watch on my open items

Eric's Dot tracks a phone trade-in that shipped weeks ago and still has not credited, submitted the itemization for a reimbursement claim stuck in review, and keeps standing watches, including a comedian's New York dates and an artist's rumored return, reporting back when something lands.

Re-do my taxes with AI and catch a bug in FreeTaxUSA itself

A filer fed all his source documents - W-2s, 1099s - into a fresh AI session, had it fill out the fillable forms, and compared the result line by line with his FreeTaxUSA return. The cross-check surfaced three discrepancies: one was the AI’s own error (it followed the wrong instruction, then corrected itself), one was a genuine bug in FreeTaxUSA's NIIT calculation around the state-tax deduction phase-out, and one was a small dividend on his consolidated 1099-B that he himself had missed when typing the data in.

This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.

Reaper: pay my credit card debt down, report daily

A user runs an AI named Reaper against his credit card debt: the balance went from $8,400 to $7,912 by day six, with daily progress reports from the bot. The paydown is small, tracked and reported like a coach with a ledger.

My agent watches my golf club statement and caught 140 dollars of other people's charges

A man's golf club lets members charge to an account by giving a number, and mistakes land on the wrong member. The AI built him a watcher that opens his club statement every morning at 8:20, spots new charges by their ticket numbers, and texts him each receipt with the running balance. In two months it caught a 25 dollar and a 115 dollar charge from other members that he would never have spotted.
