An LLM ran a font conversion build on the user's machine and fetched the donor fonts itself

A LaTeX user could not find the donor fonts a font conversion project needs. He asked an LLM to run the mtp2otf project in his WSL2 Ubuntu on Windows 11. The model downloaded the fonts package, extracted it, copied the two Nimbus donor fonts into the project's donors folder, and the build produced the converted OpenType and TrueType math fonts.

How it works

  1. He asks the LLM to run the project in his WSL2 environment
  2. It downloads the fonts-urw-base35 package with apt
  3. It extracts the package and copies the two NimbusRoman donor fonts into the donors folder
  4. The build runs and produces MTPro2MathLite in OpenType and TrueType

Why it’s worth knowing

The answer to a which files question was: the agent went and did the whole build, package download to finished fonts, on the user's own machine.
