Named his AI 'Doug' and had it research products, pick a

A tattooed man in an industrial loft apartment demonstrates his AI 'Doug' handling household tasks: researching products, selecting a herringbone wool throw blanket from Simons, placing the order with his connected credit card, tracking shipping through connected Gmail, and agreeing to send daily status updates. He notes Doug only accesses explicitly connected apps (Gmail, Stripe, Instagram, Facebook, shared files).

An agent trades my Robinhood account inside guardrails I built

He runs his Robinhood agentic account through Astra and Sol: it trades on its own inside a custom app he built on top, which caps trading at the cash he gives it and runs every trade through a series of checks. He gets a note each day on what is going on with the account.

This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.

My agent builds my monthly finance statement from my accounts in 15 minutes

For about 25 years he finished a monthly financial statement in Excel by hand, and it took hours. He connected the AI read only to all his accounts through Plaid. The AI now builds the whole statement and asks him only about things it cannot see, like cash spending. The job takes 15 minutes instead of hours. He is having the AI build him a custom money dashboard next.

Tested the AI on booking a Kids Ski Free Week ticket at Tremblant

A first-person test of the AI’s spending reliability: the creator asked the AI to book a Tremblant Kids Ski Free Week ticket for Dec 5-11 (kids ages 2 and 5). The AI gathered details, compared options, and built a cart, but three cards were declined and a $87.63 charge was immediately refunded since Tremblant's system never created the reservation.

This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.

Build a native job-tracker app with AI writing all the code

Andy Bennett built Helm, a Mac, iPhone and iPad job tracker with CV tailoring, with AI writing all of the code and most of the design across 641 commits and 21 plans. The first working Mac version landed in about eight hours of commits on September 11; both apps are now in TestFlight beta.
