Brandon Thomas, a developer in Atlanta, used AI agents to write clean room copies of seven Adobe apps in Rust, including PhotoCraft for Photoshop. He put them on GitHub free on September 30 and October 1, 2026. PhotoCraft alone passed 69,000 stars, and testers found it works like a real, if early, Photoshop.
Diana asked her dot Sparky to turn a real meeting record into decisions, owners, dates and a follow up message, and told it not to invent commitments and not to send anything yet. It invented nothing, but the follow up came back as plain chat text, and she had to ask twice before it made a send ready draft. When she told it to send, it sent at once.

He kept finding papers months late, so he set up a weekly digest with AI. It pulls new papers from Europe PMC, bioRxiv, and Crossref, filters them by his keywords, and puts them on one page every Monday.
He spent 31 years in IT, retired, and now runs an auto repair business. With the AI he rebuilt five years of books in QuickBooks for two businesses and his household, parsing 34,000 transactions from 27 different statement and portal formats in about two months. Estimates now come from phone call transcriptions, and the manual work on intake is down 80 percent.
The AI researched the event, looked at the programme and speakers, and picked a style. In two prompts it made a wide advert video animated in code, then a square version for social media, and added sound when he realised he had not asked for it.
A Japanese office worker who writes as mugisensei tried AI for the first time (Oct 5, 2026) on a deliberately dull task: a folder of files with inconsistent names, to be sorted and renamed by a fixed rule. Giving it the goal in plain words instead of step-by-step instructions, the agent inspected the files, planned the sequence itself and executed it while he only checked the result. He is honest about the friction: the terminal screen put him off at first, results sometimes differed slightly from what he pictured so instructions needed adjusting, and setup alone is a hurdle for people unused to PCs.

Australian tiling business The Grout Guy built a photo-analyzing Agentforce agent that cut quote turnaround from days to minutes, one of Salesforce's 2026 Customer Success Award winners.
Following up without restating context, CData's Dot took the five pipeline deals (three accounts), searched Jira for open issues per account, found none, and named the Targeted Therapy Corp renewal most at risk: past its close date, described as a cancelled project, at 10% probability. The post says the same answer by hand can take days of asking engineering and searching two systems.
