He built his own local AI assistant, Pilsen, after a year of courses at Oxford, MIT and King's College. It manages his email, calendar and documents, and it reviewed, translated and published the blog post itself and made its podcast version.
Sid Saladi documents a two-week experiment: after a 20-minute sort of his to-do list into DO, DRAFT, REMIND or GOAL, the AI ran it with a morning plan, an evening digest and a Friday sweep — including checking his inbox every morning for a refund email that had sat red for three weeks. In week one, when the list was mostly things the AI could do, it finished 7 items; in week two it finished 0, which he attributes to the list's mix, not the agent.
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
A developer tired of managing terminal windows one way and other windows another way grew his own replacement with AI over the course of a few months, one that treats graphical apps as part of the session too. He uses it now and says he has never looked back.
Fed up with ghost jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed, he used AI to pull job posts straight from company career pages and turn them into clean, searchable data. The result is a public job board holding 5.9 million jobs, including over 220,000 remote ones.
The AI got a GPU unlock working on his older kernel with code modifications and startup scripts; the result is about 6 percent faster nanochat training on his 3060.
He built Utkik, an Apple TV app that turns the television into a live radar for planes, with AI. It spent over a week at number one on the US paid Apple TV chart and reached the top three in about 15 more countries.
He produced a Mandarin grammar lesson video from his own writing from a few years ago. The AI made the visuals with Remotion, the AI did the drawings and BytePlus TTS did the voices, and the finished lesson is up on YouTube.
Ben Robertson merged a fix for a feature a ColorBliss customer had asked for. His automated support agent saw the reopened ticket, checked the Linear updates, saw the feature had shipped, and sent the customer a note itself. He only found out when he logged into his help desk later.
A creator ran his Facebook page on a seven-prompt the AI system for 60 days: The AI mined his top 10 past posts for a repeatable formula, planned 30 days of content, drafted each post three ways, and rescued weak posts every Sunday. He reports 56.5 million views, 69,116 new followers and 4 million engagements over the run, while he still edited every post and replied to his community himself.
The AI and the AI built his Obsidian plugin, listed in the Obsidian Directory with 65 users, alongside shell scripts, Alfred workflows and Elisp functions for his own setup.
