Ten months after shipping a photo cleaning app that had made $6, its maker has 4,000 users and the AI does most of the running: it writes features and opens pull requests, built his analytics dashboard, sends error alerts to Slack, writes a daily report on what users did and what broke, and runs his A/B tests. He decides what to build and reviews the code.
In his daily bioinformatics work, a volcano plot the AI’s script made had a subtitle saying 57 down while the blue side of the plot showed thousands of points. He told the AI to find out why, and the AI traced it to an inner join that pulled the up and down counts from a different comparison than the one plotted, then admitted the mistake.

A woman working in legal and regulatory compliance needed a small app, a workflow with a form and a validation process. Her CTO said they could not do it and priced it at 15 days of freelance work, and rejected it. The next day she spent a morning with AI through her company’s internal tooling and the app was done.
Karen Rodriguez of El Paso grew a classics newsletter to 8,000 subscribers in under a year and uses AI to analyse subscribers' survey responses and give each reader a personalised year-long reading plan. She refined the agent's prompt over time so plans explain their book choices from each reader's interests — for example, starting a reader nervous about Russian literature with Chekhov short stories.
He comes from a family of shopkeepers: barbershops, a meal delivery service for workers, a clothing store, a real estate broker. Every business had its own paid ERP and none of them fit. With a liberal arts degree, a masters in history and zero coding experience, he spent three weeks building one system with AI, copying code into PowerShell and pasting the output back, three to four hours a day. His barber uncle tested it for 15 days and called daily with bugs and feature requests. Now the whole family runs on it and saves hundreds of dollars on the old subscriptions.
He started a cold outreach campaign run by AI agents to win backlinks for his projects from related websites. He says the campaign has already brought some positive responses.
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
He let the AI go through his system and write a first pass of the documentation, including the billing part he felt he had to finish before retiring. The remittances section alone used up a full day of tokens, so the work ran over several days, but it got done and let him retire, or at least half retire, a little earlier.
The AI reads analytics, Search Console and Partner Center twice a week and produces an actions report, plus a weekly strategy review that sets the next week's plan.
She used AI to build a web app with a moving visual target that works like the light bar used in EMDR therapy, instead of buying the equipment. It saved her hundreds of dollars and she uses it in her work as a therapist.
