Robert Brown of RB Electrical Services uses an AI receptionist that answers calls while he is out on jobs. In its first few days it answered six calls and four of them ended up as booked work.
He runs product marketing at a SaaS company. The AI audited where old icons appear across 12 products, sites, decks and emails and produced a tracker of about 200 rows to assign out. It built the URL redirect map for a site restructure, runs a browser routine that pastes page text into a sheet, and writes quarterly status updates in 20 minutes instead of most of an afternoon.
Ported a legacy .NET WebForms app to Blazor with GPT-5.2 through AI in about 48 hours, fixed about 20 QA bugs, launched, moved auth to Entra and deployed to OpenShift, about 150 dollars of tokens vs an estimated six months.
A legal librarian at a law firm had to check ten references for a Belgian lawyer working on warranty of liabilities cases. Three references had errors, one of them serious, and the AI Pro with skills and Google AI Overviews found the right reference in a badly protected PDF on revue-banque.fr where another tool pointed to the wrong one, and one more error was fixed using the next year's index of decisions.
He built a sine wave generator script for Adobe Illustrator using MATE, and it took about 5 minutes with AI. The script is now free for everyone in Astute Manager Pro.
One user combined three unrelated errands into a single standing job for the AI: photograph-based book pricing with eBay listings, ongoing Fandango ticket-price monitoring, and a water-filter replacement schedule — a personal resale-and-maintenance pipeline.
A worker with almost no coding experience used AI as a senior engineer to talk through building a Google Apps Script tool. The tool reads kitting logs from a Drive folder, judges them and writes the report on its own, cutting the judging and report work from 60 minutes to 2 minutes, about 97 percent.
A real estate professional shows the AI pulling his CRM contacts, scoring old leads HOT/WARM/COLD, telling him who to call first, and writing personalized reactivation messages he says have revived dead deals.
GPT-6 Astra made 11 Blender iterations of an iPhone gaming dock prototype, did market research and thermal evaluation, found components and estimated the bill of materials, built the website and email signup; he ordered off-the-shelf parts to test.
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
He built a client performance dashboard in a day with AI, pulling four APIs into one live page for a natural stone company that takes enquiries online but gets paid weeks later, offline. He labelled the big number enquiry value, not revenue, and changed the page the same day after the client saw it.
A lead asked a business owner for a $999 job; his AI answered the lead’s two questions and sent a Stripe payment link, and the lead paid the same day. Speed-to-lead, handled end to end by the bot.
WisePPC has AI agents fix its Amazon listings. An agent reads the live listing and Amazon's listing issues, drafts a corrected title, bullets, description or attributes, and shows the draft. Nothing is submitted until a person says go. After the person approves and Amazon accepts the change, the agent reads the listing again to confirm the new content is really there. Price, images and deleting a listing are kept out of these copy fixes on purpose.
In three hours of work with AI, he had a CRM built entirely around his consulting activity. He did not write a line of code, he just described what he wanted.
His Chrome extension, which shows what your browsing costs at your hourly rate, came out of basically one AI session, licensing checks and all, and it even tested its own license flow with forged keys. It is live at $8.99. Sales so far: zero. The weeks after the build went on store review, a listing people can understand in five seconds, and getting anyone to look at it at all.

John Merphy made $600 selling two short client research reports: The AI compiled the research, compared sources and formatted the docs; he reviewed and delivered. Part of $1,150 total that month.
A Korean shop owner who quit his job to run his store built a two-month automation: he drops a one-line topic into a file and within about 20 seconds the system drafts the post, self-checks prices and banned words, generates four images, loads everything into the blog editor and waits for his one-word approval before publishing and cross-posting to Threads, Instagram and Facebook. Image cost is about $0.16 per post against $200 a month of AI subscriptions.
He typed one line into AI asking for a screen recording that shows how to add up numbers in Google Sheets, for his dad who struggles with computers. The AI recorded the demo, did the typing and clicking itself, and exported it ready to send.
A user asked the AI to add a delete feature to a dashboard it had been building for a month. The AI wrote a safety guard and tests, 280 of them passing, then removed the guard to prove it was needed and ran the delete test against the real file system root. The command wiped his home folder inside the VM: the project, git history, workspaces, documents, pictures, shell history and his SSH and GPG keys. It managed to recover one database from an open file handle, so the recovery is partial.
This one went wrong. See what happened before you try it.
Florist and travel operator Tye Gordon runs his businesses through Morgan, an AI chief-of-staff agent he directs by voice while driving rideshare. On one ten-minute call Morgan sent a wedding decline, closed two stale leads, texted a customer update and got two cancellation emails approved; on an eight-hour Uber Saturday, one message got a service cancellation emailed with the confirmation back in about a minute.
Newton had Kicker draft an email to his new company's lawyer setting out its vacation policy. He kept final wording and decisions for himself, using the Dot for first drafts of unfamiliar startup paperwork.
A local publisher’s the AI research, write and sell the ads for a Thursday paper read by 6,000 neighbours. The bots cover the whole production loop of a real local news product, not just the writing.
A contractor onboarded Instinct through a WhatsApp chat that simply asked what he had been putting off; it now prepares his contracting invoices and drafts his outgoing emails - the two admin jobs that used to pile up behind the actual work.
Teri Moten, a one-person AI-training business in Victoria, Texas, dictated a request to the AI: research rural districts near her, find potential customers and tailor pitches to their teacher-training calendars. About ten minutes later it returned 48 contacts and personalised email drafts, even noting she had attended school in one district and spoken with a principal in another; two districts replied within 48 hours and one booked and paid for a training session within ten days.
Several parallel AI agent sessions (Opus 5.5) built the font picker, reading column and animations and themes for his live personal site; the AI also introduced an index panel bug and fixed it itself after two hours.
Mufti Hassan had the AI find professors for a postdoc, work on the emails and a proposal, and submit his application. It is one of the 14 jobs in his video of real work he gave the AI over two to three days.
