Creator Eric Siu had the AI build a 'Japan in Bloom' itinerary for March 27–April 7, 2027 covering Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, generated from his saved Instagram posts for cherry-blossom season.
In the same Vergecast clip, a host describes the AI connected to his Google Calendar: seeing a media dinner party in his evening, the AI advised taking a city bike instead of the subway because it would be faster, and pinged him at 9:20 to leave in time for a 9:30 arrival. The hosts frame it as the AI being proactive to the point of feeling directive.
Meta employee Han Fang said the AI went back and forth in Japanese with a hotel in Hakone to book a dinner slot that wasn't listed on the hotel's website — a language-barrier negotiation for off-menu inventory.
For an eight day trip to Perth with his son, he talked the schedule through with AI and built a travel booklet and two browser apps, one for him and one for his son, with daily phrases and small games for the long flights. The prep took three to four hours, and he says the apps helped them again and again during the trip.
Planning a family holiday in Florida, Eric opened a voice call with Jarvis about skydiving availability. By the end they had worked through airport pickup, three jumpers split across two aircraft loads, two boys waiting on the ground, drive time and the rental check-in, and slotted the jump into otherwise dead travel-transition time. When he pushed back on an early Everglades start, the plan moved and the shareable itinerary updated with it.
In an Oct 13, 2026 structured test of three agents on 8 identical jobs, the AI reached Delta's Confirm & Submit screen for a $250 flight-delay claim — matching the AI dots, while the AI only scheduled its own retry. The test used a made-up family and nothing was actually submitted.
$250
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
Lexie Alford asked the AI to turn 6,000 saved Instagram posts into a mapped Florida bucket-list organizer. Saved-post archaeology turned into a usable travel map — the same pattern as the recipe-PDF case, applied to travel.
Chelsea Yamase documented the AI re-planning her Sardinia trip after a rental-car breakdown: re-routing through the mountains, choosing a boutique hotel near a boat launch, and booking restaurants via WhatsApp in Italian. The AI also monitored flights and deliveries and emailed about customs.
FlipIt's account of Business Insider's reporting describes UX designer Jay Eskenazi feeding his own compiled notes and recommendations into AI during a three-week Europe trip. The AI mapped his points of interest and exported routes into Google Maps, updated afternoon itineraries as plans shifted — accounting for opening hours, ticket availability and real-time events — and surfaced Barcelona festival information not yet fully published in English.
Vo asked the AI to buy IMAX tickets for 'The Odyssey' in Daly City during daytime hours when she has a nanny. The AI found showtimes, navigated the Cinemark site's guest checkout, and reached the payment screen using a Stripe Link virtual card.
