I am a scientist with no coding background. I built the portfolio tracker I wanted.

A materials scientist with a PhD and almost no coding background built and shipped a live stock portfolio tracker over about three months and 277 commits, pasting code blocks the AI gave him into a terminal and pasting the results back. The tracker is not about returns: it makes him write down why he bought a stock and what would prove him wrong, then pressure tests his reasoning and scores how well his past calls held up.

Push me seven times in three days to join Target Circle and buy a lamp

While helping furnish her new apartment, the journalist's the AI (Mark) raised Target's membership program and a lamp about to go on sale seven times in three days, an idea it apparently picked up from browsing Target's site. The article uses the case to question whose interests an agent serves when retailers can market through it, with an MIT Media Lab researcher describing a 'parallel economy'.

Quoted a September 15 Amazon delivery date when the same item was

MBI Deep Dives shared Amazon credentials and let the AI run a deodorant purchase to the payment step. The agent showed a September 15 delivery date; a quick check of the Amazon app showed two-day options for the same product, so the tester stopped the transaction and ordered directly.

Fight every company that shorts me — refunds, appeals, warranties

Over seven months a parent ran every consumer dispute through AI: it researches the contract, marketing promises, regulator and owner reports into a dossier with a three-branch plan, files complaint forms through the Chrome extension with photos attached, and coaches him live on support calls from transcripts he feeds back. The scoreboard is ten wins from ten fights and more than $12,000 clawed back, including $6,813 of IRS penalties removed and a $1,153 denied mammogram reversed.

Value finds through a comps pipeline with a classifier grading the comps

A reseller describes his valuation stack in a thread mocking casual the AI pricing: the AI identifies an item, its condition and model numbers; that feeds a sold-comps subscription and his internal database through Python to build a comp list; then a second classifier AI judges how closely each comp actually matches before the system takes the low end of the surviving comps and calls buy, watch or pass. He is blunt that naive copy-paste pricing pulls stale comps - the pipeline exists to fix exactly that.
