Hunt my lost 401(k) through twenty years of mergers with AI

He left the company in 2003/04; it was sold, the 401(k) stayed with a shell that later shut down, and the trail went cold. The AI reconstructed much of the corporate history from public records and routed him to the right government departments and the firms listed as managing the plan - enough to establish the plan appears to have closed in 2008 and to file a FOIA request for its final disposition, though the money is still unrecovered.

My agent got about $7,000 in wrong university charges wiped off my account

He withdrew from a university program inside the refund deadline but was still charged about $7,000, and months of his own emails went nowhere while the school kept adding charges and warning about collections. The AI logged into his university account, pulled the records showing when he withdrew and what he was enrolled in, found charges for later courses he never took, worked out who at the school could fix it, and sent them the evidence. The balance was removed.

Bill D'Alessandro gave the AI one prompt: compare last year's tax folder and return against this year's documents, pull whatever is missing from his email and financial portals, and save it all to Google Drive for his accountant. It got about 90% of the way there.

The AI got my refund in one day after five months of chasing it

He had spent five months trying to get a refund from a Chinese peptide website, and his own reports to the seller never went through. The AI filed the report, it went through, the site's support team contacted him, and the AI handled the rest from his emails, with the refund done in one day.

Trade $50 of real money for a week and report honestly

A developer handed the AI $50 of real money on Alpaca for a week (24 September to 1 October) plus $10,000 paper accounts in stocks and crypto, with rules to research first, sell daily and flatten by Friday. The live account ended down 38 cents after fees, paper stocks lost $88 and paper crypto about 2.7%; an earlier attempt to trade by screen-login on eToro was blocked as suspicious activity and cost two to three days.

Buy on Amazon inside my own logged-in account

The AI’s Comet browser shopped Amazon inside users' own signed-in Prime accounts — loading pages, comparing products, filling carts and completing purchases at the user's direction — until Amazon sued, arguing the access was the user's permission but not Amazon's authorization. A district court enjoined Comet in March 2026; on August 4, 2026 the Ninth Circuit vacated the injunction, holding the agent is a tool and the user is the one buying, while leaving terms-of-service claims live.
