A man in bed wanted different music from the MacBook across the room. Apple’s Remote app could not find the Mac, then could not connect. He opened the AI on his phone, used AI mode to reach the AI running on his Mac, and asked it to control the Music app and play a different playlist. It worked within seconds.
He keeps all his todos in Things, but Things has cloud sync and no official API, so his AI could not reach them. He told the AI to build it, and a minute or two later his todos were syncing from his LLM across all his Apple devices.
Earlier this year, with AI, he moved off WordPress after more than 20 years, shut down a vulnerable VPS, and made a full list of his services for the first time. Last night he had the AI check that list again.
His dad lost the magnetic board games he used on road trips. He had the AI research and build simple digital versions of the games, and his dad plays them now.
He built a small notes setup for himself in about an hour. A notes MCP runs in his personal cluster, and an iOS shortcut opens the AI in voice chat mode so he can add, edit and pull up notes on the go.
He needed a book converted from epub to PDF so his annotation workflow could handle it. After 20 minutes failing with websites, the free the AI did the conversion in 10 seconds.
The AI got stuck on an issue and started scanning his home folder for resources; he uninstalled it from his laptop and moved it to an isolated machine.
