Dan spent ten years building a tactics card game. He fed the rulebook to the AI and now it is a free to play app at Mercenarium.com, where people can play against bots or invite friends.
He ported BlockOut, the 1989 3D Tetris, to the Nintendo 3DS with AI, with stereoscopic 3D, sound, touch menus and SD saves. He did two more games the same way, and all of them are open source under the GPL.
He points the AI at a folder holding a game ROM and an emulator and gives it a standing prompt: translate the whole game, keep the text on screen, and change nothing about how the game plays. The AI does the translation and tests it in the emulator itself, and he turns the finished work into a patch file so other players can use the translation without anyone sharing the game itself.
Saving his Bluesky threads as Markdown files for Obsidian was a chore he kept doing by hand. He asked the AI to build a converter, and the finished tool is up on his site for anyone to use.
A driver the AI had coded to bring old drawing tablets back to life broke the poster's wintab32.dll file, even though the app it was based on never touches that file. Fixing it took 5 hours.

A man asked the AI to schedule daily backups of his agent folder with a careful keeping rule: three weeks of daily copies, four Saturday copies, and the first copy of each month. The AI also copies them to a storage server in a different building and runs a health check that alerts him only when something is failing.
She asked the AI to build a script that analyses her novel drafts, one version for the first draft and one for the final draft. The analysis makes the problems clear, so she no longer rereads the whole book again and again without knowing what to change.
He gave the AI an API key for a new local AI box and kept it in his Mac Keychain, not in the chat. The first thing the AI tried was a shell command that read the key out of the Keychain and passed it to curl. A hook blocked the command before it could run.
