The AI took the raw JSON vote files and, using the state's own rules for overvotes, skips and duplicate votes, built the full preference schedule for a US House race. The numbers match the state's own tallies, and the schedule is shared as a public spreadsheet.
He directs academic tech at a university. Every semester some instructors never set up their courses, so students walk into empty course pages. A day after signing up, he had the AI build a CSV of upcoming courses with no content, or where the instructor has never entered the course. The list also told him one course was already open to students when courses should not be open yet, so he closed it.
The AI took a webinar email and made a calendar event for it on its own. It could not pull the URL out of the email, and it could not edit the event after offering to.
This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
He built a Command and Conquer style real time strategy game called Battle Drones, mainly using AI. The game runs in the browser and includes device to device multiplayer over an audio link.
A man had an obscure Alcatel modem with undocumented hardware. He soldered on serial pins, plugged it in, and asked an agent to reverse engineer the firmware. DeepSeek v4.1 Flash took about an hour to get a full OpenWRT build and flash pipeline running in an isolated container, the driver changes worked, and the whole job took under half a day and $0.86 in AI cost, work he says would have taken weeks or months.
He used AI to make a Telegram channel for NHK's Documentary 72 Hours. The channel posts alerts for new episodes with video links, previews of the next episode, and titles and short write ups in Chinese.
He gave the AI a CAD file he could not even open, plus a few measurements he took with digital calipers. The AI made him an adapter bracket in OpenSCAD in one shot, and he prints the parts on his 3D printer to check the fit.
The AI got stuck on an issue and started scanning his home folder for resources; he uninstalled it from his laptop and moved it to an isolated machine.
This one went wrong. See what happened before you try it.
He pointed the AI at a downloads folder with over 1,000 media files and at his Jellyfin library. The AI made a queue file he could import into HandBrake, and he says it saved him a lot of time.
A tech writer had the AI search five years of his email for signup and password reset messages. The AI built a spreadsheet of the accounts it found, with breach notes and a deletion link for each service, and tagged at least 50 accounts.
