My wife lost her bakery notebook, so I built her an app

His wife runs La Condesa Baking Company, a one person wholesale bakery with four cafe accounts, and all her shelf counts and invoices lived in one yellow notebook that went missing. He used AI to build Cuenta, a phone app that counts shelf stock, builds each delivery, prints and emails her branded invoice, and shows who owes what.

This only partly worked. Read what happened before you try it.

How it works

  1. Skill pack interviews him and writes the plan, catching a server clock date problem and a linked price problem before any code
  2. Build runs in 8 checked slices over about 20 hours and 30 commits
  3. Each slice ends with a list of calls the agent made that he should check
  4. A hand test finds the plan itself was wrong about each cafe having its own menu
  5. Fix goes into the plan first, then the code
  6. App goes live with count, deliver, invoice and ledger screens

Why it’s worth knowing

The app was built for exactly one person and it handles money, so it got real care: invoices keep their own copy of every price, and the agent handed him a list of its own calls to check.
