Delete this Notion page for me

Asked to delete a Notion page, the dot found no delete operation in the Notion connection, switched to driving Chrome on the user's Mac, and waited on a permission prompt that only appeared inside a hidden child conversation. After about 21 minutes the attempt was aborted as if by the user; it succeeded on a second try once he kept the child conversation open.

This only partly worked. Read what happened before you try it.

How it works

  1. Check the page through the Notion connection
  2. Find no delete operation available
  3. Switch to Chrome on the user's Mac
  4. Wait about 21 minutes on a permission prompt hidden in a child conversation
  5. Get aborted as 'by user'
  6. Succeed on the second attempt in 70 seconds once the prompt was approved

Why it’s worth knowing

The approval the whole task hinged on was invisible in the main conversation.
