Agents wrote all 6,000 lines of my classroom Raft tool. It found a bug in my lecture notes.

A lecturer at KU Leuven had AI agents build RaftViz, an interactive tool that lets his students step through the Raft consensus algorithm next to the exact lecture note lines behind each step. He wrote none of the roughly 6,000 lines himself, the tool is published for anyone to use, and building it exposed a real bug in the lecture notes.

How it works

  1. Writes a spec from Kleppmann's lecture notes
  2. Agents build the tool in phases with tests from phase one
  3. Agents turn their own visual checks into Playwright smoke tests
  4. Tool is published on GitHub and live for students

Why it’s worth knowing

Turning the lecture notes into a running program showed the notes themselves had a bug that slides had hidden for years.
