Level up how you use AI

Real things everyday people got it to do, and how to try them yourself.

The AI fixed my printer and left a script to renew its certificate

His HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw from around 2016 refused to print because its certificate had expired, and searching Google did not help. The AI talked him through the fix, then wrote a script that made a locally signed certificate, uploaded it through the printer's web page, and saved the script in his personal knowledge base, all in about 15 to 20 minutes.

An agent patched my dead game so it plays offline again

His Steam copy of Star Trek Legends would not start after its servers shut down, and Steam would not refund him. He gave GPT-6 Astra the game's files and logs; it found the online checks blocking startup, patched them out in two rounds, and packaged the fix as an installer. He has played missions and loaded his saved progress since.

Recommended 5 accommodations within a 2-hour drive from past Airbnb history and

MBI asked the AI to recommend five accommodations within a two-hour drive, factoring in past Airbnb stays; the AI reviewed his history and analyzed saved Instagram Reels to pin his preferences, then browsed like a real person. When he spotted a farmhouse and asked if he could book it directly, the AI confirmed within a minute that booking direct was 60% cheaper than Airbnb — after which he sold his Airbnb shares.

HobbiesPartly worked

The AI built my greeting app, then scheduled it daily without asking me

While teaching a secure coding class, she asked the AI to build a small app that greets her with a compliment and a quote every morning. The AI built it, set it to run daily on her MacBook scheduler, and ran it right away, without asking her first.

This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.

Compare wireless plans against what I actually pay and use

Harry McCracken asked his Dot to research wireless carriers. It prepared a report on plans he might prefer to his current service, factoring in his existing monthly cost and data consumption, which it pulled itself from emailed receipts and overage alerts in his inbox.

An AI browser moved 110 blog posts between platforms that have no API

A Korean essay analyzes a public user case in which the Aside AI browser migrated 110 Brunch posts into Naver Blog in 2 hours 40 minutes, carrying formatting, images and links intact; the posts drew 260 views the next day. Brunch, Naver Blog and Maily offer no posting API, and the user had previously tried AI with Playwright, which was slow and often gave up; Aside instead inherits the user's already logged-in browser session.

Every idea is a real post from someone who tried it, summarized in our words, with a link to the original. App names are swapped for plain words.
