Level up how you use AI

Real things everyday people got it to do, and how to try them yourself.

My agent organized my whole music collection on my NAS

He gave the AI a profile on his Synology NAS, linked over Tailscale by SSH, with one hard rule: never delete anything without his clear say so. The AI went through his large MP3 collection folder by folder. It renamed files, removed duplicates, found album art, fixed tags, and moved songs that were filed wrong, like songs in an 80s folder that were not from the 80s. It also relinked a playlist after he had moved all of its tracks into other folders.

Turn my blog posts into finished short-form videos

The same studio's agent Timmy orchestrates more than 20 tools to turn blog posts into short videos: Veo generates scenes, ElevenLabs synthesises a custom voice, and automated captioning, lip sync and final assembly finish the piece. The pipeline runs inside the studio's normal the AI production setup.

HobbiesPartly worked

Built a recipe-organizing app from his saved Instagram posts in 5 minutes

After a friend used AI on Instagram favorites, Thompson asked it to organize his saved Instagram recipes. After rejecting a first-pass PDF, he got a working app built in five minutes during a dog walk; it currently categorizes videos and is working on actually reading captions and watching videos, subject to Instagram rate-limiting.

This only partly worked. Worth knowing before you try it.
WorkWent wrong

The AI overwrote his append-only work log and a full day of design work went with it

A senior engineer keeps a daily devlog file that is only ever added to. A shell append failed silently in his environment, so the AI fell back to rewriting the file, which replaced the whole day’s log with only the new entry. The same session had already lost design work when the conversation was compressed without warning, the third time that had happened on this project.

This one went wrong. See what happened before you try it.

She produced a complete video with AI and ElevenLabs in about an hour

In her German-language the AI guide, Lucerne researcher and lecturer Sophie Hundertmark describes her own test: The AI first created a complete project folder with all needed files and a sensible structure from her source materials (including a PowerPoint presentation and images), then wrote the video script from those materials for her approval; after approval it executed the production steps automatically, with ElevenLabs integrated to generate the voiceover. She added a QR code at the end herself. The full video took about an hour, with AI doing most of the work.

Every idea is a real post from someone who tried it, summarized in our words, with a link to the original. App names are swapped for plain words.
