My agent writes alt text for my photos before I post them

He is a photographer who found typing alt text for every photo slow going. He built a small agent on his own n8n server: he sends a photo through an Apple shortcut, the agent reads the picture with a local Qwen model, adds the camera data, and saves the finished alt text in an Obsidian note, ten photos at a time.

How it works

  1. He sends a photo from his phone through an Apple shortcut to a webhook on his n8n server
  2. The agent runs the photo through local Qwen 3.5:9b to describe it
  3. It reads the EXIF camera data and merges the two
  4. The finished alt text is appended to a note in Obsidian where he can grab it when posting

Why it’s worth knowing

The whole thing runs on his own server with a local model, so a batch of ten photos from his camera roll turns into finished alt text in his notes without him typing a word of it.
